My name is Amanda, and I’m a running addict. I got hooked on the sport several years ago and honestly can’t imagine my life without it. Running makes me happy – and the purpose of this blog is to celebrate the freeing feeling of lacing up your shoes and heading out the door.
I am by no means an elite athlete or fitness expert, but I know a thing or two about running. I’ve run 5Ks, 10Ks, 10 milers, and half marathons. My longest runs were 20 milers as I was training for a full marathon last year, but a stress fracture knocked me out just weeks before race day (you know, when all of the hard work is done!). Half marathons are my favorite distance!
I like the versatility of running in that you don’t have to depend on anyone but yourself. Most of my training runs are solo affairs. However, I truly enjoy being a part of the running community. I love hearing about other people’s training methods and race experiences. I am fascinated by what motivated people to start running and what it has done for their lives.
